Our Essence

Compliance

For Fibria, compliance means doing things right the first time, in other words, complying with and enforcing internal and external laws, rules, regulations, and commitments, whether or not they have been voluntarily assumed by the organization. To this end, the Compliance Program - focused on antitrust, anti-corruption, and loss and fraud prevention - adopts measures that help protect the company and preserve its reputation as an intangible asset.

In 2016, an atypical year in the country's political scenario, we reviewed and improved the Anti-Corruption pillar, especially in internal processes for evaluating and approving donations, sponsorships, and partnerships. We also intensified training related to Anti-Corruption and Antitrust Law. We also launched the Manual on Relationship with Government Officials, which guides Fibria's own employees and contractors in relationships with politicians, authorities, candidates for public office, and any other government official. Direct leaders and their multipliers were trained. We also disclosed the guidelines to our network of suppliers.

Another highlight of the year was the creation of a panel with the company's main obligations and business requirements, based on the pillars of the Compliance Program, which includes: Laws and Regulations, Licenses, Permits and Certifications, Contracts and Agreements, External Disclosure of Information; Support for Competition/Antitrust; Loss and Fraud Prevention; and Anti-Corruption. This information is presented every six months in the meetings of the Executive Board and the Statutory Audit Committee, and annually to the Board of Directors.
