Landscape Management

How to stop considering individual walls and take care of the landscape as a whole in an integrated way, with the participation of other players? Concepts associated with landscape thinking drive actions and broaden the environmental results in terms of conservation and ecosystem services to society.

With this proposal, the Sustainable Forest Mosaics project (Mosaico Florestais Sustentáveis), of which Fibria is part, brings together forestry and third sector organizations such as BioAtlântica Institute, Conservation International Brazil, and The Nature Conservancy, as well as members of academia. The projects initiatives are especially focused on conservation and restoration of the Atlantic Rainforest.

The partners of the Sustainable Forest Mosaics, together with organized civil society and community groups, seek to prioritize the restoration of landscape areas that increase connectivity with existing natural areas, generating gains in biodiversity throughout the region.

Fibria's forest management, as well as that of other companies, in production and conservation areas, is also discussed in the Brazilian Forest Dialogue, a forum with over 20 companies and 200 national NGOs, in different Brazilian states, which are interested in aligning conservation efforts.

Fibria is also a signatory of the Atlantic Rainforest Pact, which is dedicated to restoration of the most threatened biome in Brazil, in order to create synergies and large scale results, in addition to being a partner of the Vale do Paraíba Ecological Corridor, which promotes the connection between Serra do Mar and Serra da Mantiqueira.
