As the first banking institution to operate in Brazil, after 200 years of operations, Banco do Brasil is the largest financial institution in Latin America. With a focus on businesses and projects that will enable the sustainable development of the Brazilian economy, Banco do Brasil also operates in 24 countries.

This financial conglomerate, which handles a credit portfolio of BRL 692.9 billion, ended FY 2013 with 67,600 service channels, including the proprietary and shared network as well as the Banco do Brasil agents, with a footprint that covers 99.9% of Brazilian cities. The Banco do Brasil network had 19,143 service channels, including 5,450 branches and 11,947 electronic minibranches with 44,117 automated teller machines.

To make sure our nearly 61 million clients get excellent service and manage over 39 million checking accounts and more than BRL 1.3 trillion in assets, Banco do Brasil's staff is 117,000 strong.

Since December 2012, Banco do Brasil has a new subsidiary, BB Seguridade, a publicly-traded company, to run the company's insurance, capitalization, retirement, and similar operations.
